A renewed, focused portfolio.
The Division of Health and Wellness operates within the reorganised 2026 Tobago House of Assembly. Social Protection is now part of the Division of Community Development and Social Protection, not this health portfolio.
The division provides health-sector leadership and policy direction. The Tobago Regional Health Authority delivers public clinical services through the island’s hospitals and health centres. Public health work also involves the County Medical Officer of Health and Public Health Inspectorate.
The health vision centres on prevention, compassionate care, resilient services and stronger community participation.
THE 2026–2030 ASSEMBLY
A new chapter in governance.
Following the 12 January 2026 election, the Tobago People’s Party won all 15 electoral districts. The new executive was inaugurated on 15 January, with reorganised portfolios announced later in January.
